Pennsylvania gun owners can rejoice after a bumpstock ban and advanced reporting by FFLs was defeated last week.
By a vote of 101-100, both HB 335 and HB 2206 failed to meet the 102 votes needed to clear the Pennsylvania State House.
HB 335 would have banned the sale and possession of bumpstocks and even so-called “rapid trigger activators” like the Rare Breed trigger.
HB 2206 would have required federal firearms license holders (FFLs) to report every single firearm sale and transfer electronically to the state, essentially creating a state-wide gun owner database.
Pennsylvania Gun Rights led a massive program to lobby Republicans to stand firm on the Second Amendment and even peeled off a Democrat to vote against these two gun control proposals.
While gun owners are celebrating, the threat still looms with a year-round legislature and HB 336, a ban on so-called “assault weapons” is still alive in the State House.
