Over 35,000 Citizen Petitions Urging the Passage of Constitutional Carry Delivered in Montgomery

press release

Montgomery, AL – Today, National Association for Gun Rights staff and volunteers hand delivered more than 35,000 citizen petitions to lawmakers in Montgomery, urging them to pass pro-gun Constitutional Carry legislation in 2022.

“The people of Alabama are sending a clear message this election year,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights. “They expect their elected officials in Montgomery to restore the Second Amendment and pass a true Constitutional Carry bill right away.”

This petition delivery coincides with a massive grassroots mobilization campaign consisting of mail, email, phone calls, and social media ads all designed to mobilize Alabamians statewide for this important fight to restore gun rights.

Constitutional Carry is the simple concept that law-abiding citizens shouldn’t need to pay a tax and get permission from their sheriff to exercise their God-given right to keep and bear arms.

Twenty-one states currently recognize the right to carry a handgun without a permit, including neighboring states Mississippi and Tennessee.

“It’s important that the citizens of Alabama continue contacting their state lawmakers and urge them to pass Constitutional Carry with no anti-gun amendments. Alabama is on the cusp of becoming the 22nd Constitutional Carry – so we must continue piling on the pressure until it gets done and the bill is on the governor’s desk.” concluded Brown.

The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s largest “no compromise” pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members nationwide.
