NAGR Tells California to Ditch “May Issue” Permit Scheme

“Attorney General Bonta lays out an entire laundry list of non-relevant characteristics such as ‘fiscal stability’ that he suggests local officials review before deciding whether an applicant is ‘moral’ enough to get a permit, including checking an applicant’s social media for ‘hatred and racism’ – whatever that means,” Dudley Brown, president of the National Association for Gun Rights, said.

“This is a clear attack on the First Amendment in order to continue infringing on the Second. You can bet our legal foundation is looking at all options available to end California’s relentless attacks on the Second Amendment.”
