Tanner Watson
Director of Digital Marketing
The first gun Tanner Watson ever owned is a Ruger P85, a model that was discontinued before he was old enough to hold it. It belonged to his great uncle, an Alabama State Trooper who carried it in service. When his great uncle passed, Tanner’s grandmother held onto the pistol. She gave it to him after he graduated college and moved out on his own for the first time, which is the sort of gift that says more than a card ever could. It sits in a StopBox on his nightstand to this day, and it is the reason he takes the Second Amendment personally rather than professionally.
Tanner joined the National Association for Gun Rights in 2023. As Digital Marketing Director, he plays an integral role in crafting the organization’s internal and external messaging, from the emails that land in members’ inboxes to the language that defines how NAGR talks about the fight for the right to keep and bear arms.
A native of Mandeville, Louisiana, Tanner graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2014. Before NAGR, he worked in the office of U.S. Senator John Kennedy and brings extensive campaign experience from a U.S. Senate race in Mississippi. Prior to that, he was a radio personality doing morning drive time from 6 to 10 in Laurel, Mississippi.
Tanner lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his wife, Olivia, and their three children, Peter, Lottie and John Mark. You can catch him talking all things Saints, Pelicans, and all college sports.
