Will The Gun Control Skeletons Hiding in James Talarico’s Closet Come Back to Haunt Him?

U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico wants a promotion to Washington, but his anti-gun agenda has not changed.

James Talarico, the Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate in Texas, voted against Constitutional Carry as a member of the Texas House.

Talarico attacked the rights of law-abiding gun owners by opposing  House Bill 1927, legislation that protected the right of law-abiding Texans to carry a handgun without first begging the government for permission.

In 2019, he also introduced House Bill 3508, which would have changed Texas from a “shall issue” concealed carry permitting system to a “may issue” system, giving bureaucrats greater discretion over who could exercise their Second Amendment rights.

That should tell Texas gun owners everything they need to know.

Now Talarico wants a promotion to the U.S. Senate, but that agenda hasn’t changed.

His campaign platform calls for raising the purchase age for ordinary semi-automatic rifles to 21. If he gets his way, young adults who are old enough to serve in the military would be banned from buying America’s most popular rifles.

He is also campaigning on universal background checks, “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation orders, and other so-called “common sense” gun control laws.

And it’s not just his record. It’s who he chose to help write his gun control bills.

Talarico hired Ana Lopez, the former leader of a vulgar anti-gun protest movement, to help craft his gun control legislation while serving in the Texas Legislature.

The movement she once led gained national attention for its crude tactics designed to mock the Second Amendment and ridicule Americans who support the right to keep and bear arms.

Lopez worked as Talarico’s legislative aide in 2019, helping develop firearm restriction proposals, including efforts to restrict concealed carry and impose additional requirements on gun owners.

Texas gun owners deserve to know the truth about the candidates who want to represent them in Washington.

That’s why NAGR and Gun Rights America SuperPAC are outing Talarico’s record.

The National Association for Gun Rights is taking James Talarico’s record directly to gun owners across Texas, and why Gun Rights America SuperPAC is running ads and phone calls and more through Election Day on November 3rd.

Through hard-hitting ads, phone calls, text messages and an all-out blitz to mobilize grassroots gun activists, NAGR is outing the agenda of Talarico, and every gun grabber like him this election cycle.

Help us keep exposing gun grabbers before November 3rd.
