California’s New Glock Ban Punishes Law-Abiding Gun Owners, Not Criminals

Newsom’s latest anti-gun law blocks new Glock sales because Democrats claim they are “readily convertible” to fully automatic with a “Glock switch,” which is already illegal in the Golden State.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed yet another anti-gun law (AB 1127), banning the sale of new Glock pistols across the state.

The move targets Glock’s design because it can allegedly be converted into a fully automatic weapon with an illegal “Glock switch” — a device already banned under federal law.

Instead of enforcing existing laws against criminals who use these devices, the state is now choosing to punish law-abiding gun owners and retailers.

The new law doesn’t outlaw current ownership or used Glock sales, but it stops manufacturers and dealers from selling new models unless they are “redesigned” to meet California’s arbitrary new standards.

The National Association for Gun Rights argues this won’t stop crime or illegal modifications, since millions of Glocks are already in circulation nationwide.

Additionally, the law does nothing to enhance public safety and everything to expand government control over legal firearm sales.

Rather than focusing on violent offenders and illegal traffickers, politicians in California are once again restricting responsible citizens’ choices.

Small gun shop owners warn that this ban will hurt local businesses and law enforcement agencies that rely on Glock’s trusted reliability.

Instead of addressing criminal misuse, California is making it harder for honest people to exercise their Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

If Glock redesigns its handguns to comply, it will come at significant cost — one ultimately passed on to consumers.

This law won’t make California safer; it will only make it less free.
