Constitutional Carry on its way to Governor Jim Pillen’s Desk for Signature

press release

The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) is proud to announce the passage of LB77, also known as Constitutional Carry, in the Nebraska State Senate this morning (33-14). This landmark legislation will strengthen the Second Amendment rights of Nebraskans and allow law-abiding citizens to carry firearms without a permit.

“Today is a great day for gun owners and the Second Amendment in Nebraska,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights. “After seven years of intense grassroots pressure from NAGR members, Constitutional Carry is finally on its way to Governor Pillen’s desk for signature.”

Constitutional Carry has gained momentum in recent years as more than half of the states have passed similar legislation.

Under Constitutional Carry, individuals who are legally allowed to own firearms will be able to carry them openly or concealed without a permit.

“The National Association for Gun Rights is proud to have played a vital role in advancing Constitutional Carry in Nebraska,” said Regional Director Matt Mammoser. “We will continue to fight for Constitutional Carry across the country and work to protect the Second Amendment for future generations.”

The passage of LB77 in the Nebraska State Senate is a major victory for gun owners and the Second Amendment. If signed by the Governor, the law will take effect three months after the legislature adjourns.

The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s largest “no compromise” pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members nationwide.
