DOGE Sent to ATF With Aim to Eliminate Numerous Restrictions

While many were following Congress and the theatrics of what is the current reconciliation situation, the Department of Government Efficiency announced they had sent staff to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

The agency claims they have a goal of revising or eliminating more than 50 rules and restrictions on firearms by Friday, July 4th.

This news comes just days after President Trump’s Justice Departments plans to slash ATF staff by up to two-thirds.

The ATF even provided a statement, contradicting the agency’s stance in recent years:

“This modernization project focuses ATF’s enforcement on violent criminals, while reducing unnecessary regulatory burdens on lawful gun owners and dealers.”

Rumors claim DOGE may change the rules on what types of guns can be imported, refunding licensing fees, and adjusting the Form 4473 from seven pages down to three pages.

This is a developing story, stay tuned for more updates.
