Gun Rights Coalition Demands Big Banks End Debanking of Gun Owners

The firearms industry and gun owners alike have face relentless attacks and discriminatory treatment for decades by financial institutions.

Organizations including the National Association for Gun Rights, Gun Owners of America, NRA-ILA, American Suppressor Association, and the Second Amendment Foundation have joined forces to demand that JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and the Bank Policy Institute end their politically motivated “debanking” practices.

For years, these financial giants have cut off or restricted services to firearm and ammunition manufacturers, retailers, and advocacy groups — all while pretending to act in the name of “risk management.”

The gun rights organizations say it’s nothing more than corporate censorship of law-abiding Americans.

In a blistering letter, the coalition accuses the banks of whitewashing their record. While executives now claim they’ve eased restrictions, the groups argue these so-called reversals are half-measures that still leave room for selective discrimination.

The letter points directly to testimony from JPMorgan’s Jamie Dimon and Bank of America’s Brian Moynihan, who both hinted at cutting ties with companies making so-called “military-style rifles.”

Gun owners know that’s a vague, politically-charged term often used to smear some of the most common and popular firearms in the country.

While the banks insist they continue serving the firearms industry, they also admit to applying “risk-based” criteria that can quietly blacklist businesses for political reasons.

Gun rights organizations aren’t buying it. They’re demanding that the banks make a clear and public pledge: no more debanking of gun owners or the businesses that serve them.

At stake is more than financial access—it’s whether Americans can exercise their rights without being punished by woke corporations. As the coalition warns, if Big Banks don’t change course, millions of gun owners will know exactly where they stand.
