National Association for Gun Rights Opposes Biden Administration’s revival of Obama era gun control rule

press release

Washington, D.C.  – On Monday, the Department of Justice called for a new rule to be administered through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives requiring additional gun storage regulations for Federal Firearms Licensed gun dealers.

The National Association for Gun Rights is opposed to the rule and the lack of adequate time for response from the pro-gun community. The proposed rule would go into effect on February 3rd, making non-compliance from dealers cause for losing their license to sell firearms and possibly worse.

“This is yet another overreach by the Biden administration, and not a very clever one. It is just a rehash of failed policies started in the Obama era,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights.

NAGR is also questioning the validity of the ATF taking these actions based on the guidelines set forth in the Administrative Procedures Act.

“It is standard operating procedure for Joe Biden to circumvent the Constitution and use his ATF attack dogs to go after gun rights,” said Brown “and there was no surprise the NRA lap dogs backed his play.”

Brown’s comments on the NRA referred to National Rifle Association spokesman Lars Dalseide’s Washington Times comments in support of the gun control rule.

The National Association for Gun Rights is calling on its members to lobby their lawmakers in opposing the proposed new gun control rule.

The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s largest “no compromise” pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members nationwide.
