Nashville, TN –The National Association for Gun Rights responded to Nashville Democrats’ plan to tour Tennessee on a bus promoting gun control by suggesting any politicians supporting gun control drive right out of Tennessee and take Governor Bill Lee with them.
On July 31, 2023, Democrats held a press conference to announce that they would take a bus across Tennessee to promote their gun control package, which includes “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation and infringements on other gun rights.
“This is nothing more than a photo op for anti-gun Democrat politicians who make up a fraction of the Tennessee General Assembly,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights. “Perhaps Governor Bill Lee should join their anti-gun caravan since he refuses to back off his calls for ‘Red Flag’ Gun Confiscation and still intends to call a special session where some Tennessee lawmakers hope to eliminate Second Amendment rights.”
“I think it would be best for all Tennesseans if the politicians supporting gun control drove themselves right out of the state and did not return,” Brown concluded.
Governor Bill Lee’s special session on gun control is tentatively scheduled for August 21, though an official order calling the special session is not expected until later in the month.
The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s largest “no compromise” pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members nationwide.
