Mary Peltola wants Alaskans to believe she’s a modern day unicorn: a “pro-gun” Democrat. So why is she telling the Leftist media she wants to see the “particulars” of an “Assault Weapons” Ban.
Mary Peltola, the Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate in Alaska, wants Alaskans to believe she is a rare “pro-gun” Democrat.
But when she isn’t talking to gun owners, a very different Mary Peltola shows up.
Asked directly about gun control in a September 2022 interview with Time Magazine, here is what she said:
“Of course, I support background checks. I don’t think that that is an infringement on Second Amendment rights. I would like to see the particulars of an ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban.”¹

That should tell Alaska gun owners everything they need to know.
Make no mistake about what Peltola is endorsing.
“Background checks” is a friendly-sounding label for Universal Gun Registration, a system that puts law-abiding Alaskans on a federal list simply for exercising their Second Amendment rights.
And Peltola isn’t just “tolerating” it. She is open to a so-called “Assault Weapons” Ban, and wants to see “the particulars,” the same government overreach gun owners have been fighting off for three decades.
This is a politician willing to trade away your rights the moment it is politically convenient.
The best way to know how a candidate will actually vote in Washington is to look at who is funding her campaign.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Senate Democrats’ campaign arm, has committed $1 million to build a ground operation in Alaska to elect Peltola.²

That’s on top of $1.3 million that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s outside political organization spent in soft money to convince her to run in the first place.²
Schumer doesn’t spend that kind of money for free. He’s buying another anti-gun rubber stamp for the Senate.
Alaska gun owners deserve to know the truth about the woman asking for their vote.
That’s why NAGR and Gun Rights America SuperPAC are exposing Peltola’s record.
That’s why the National Association for Gun Rights is taking Mary Peltola’s record directly to gun owners across Alaska, and why Gun Rights America SuperPAC is running ads and phone calls and more through Election Day on November 3rd.
Through hard-hitting ads, phone calls, text messages and an all-out blitz to mobilize grassroots gun activists, NAGR is exposing the agenda of Peltola, and every gun grabber like him this election cycle.
Help us keep exposing gun grabbers before November 3rd.
