WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) commends President Trump’s Executive Order directing the federal government to review unconstitutional infringements on the Second Amendment imposed over the last four years. The order mandates a full review of executive actions, regulations, and enforcement measures that have burdened law-abiding gun owners and the firearms industry.
Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights, hailed the move as a necessary step to undo the damage inflicted by the anti-gun Biden Administration.
“For the past four years, unelected bureaucrats and anti-gun politicians have waged war on the Second Amendment—this Executive Order puts them on notice,” said Brown. “The Constitution is crystal clear: The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That means no bureaucratic roadblocks, no backdoor gun bans, and absolutely no treading on the God-given rights of the American people.”
The order requires the Attorney General to conduct a comprehensive audit of executive actions taken from January 2021 through January 2025, including regulations issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and other federal agencies. The audit must be submitted within 30 days, along with a proposed plan of action to ensure federal policies align with the Second Amendment and do not infringe on the rights of law-abiding Americans.
“For years, we’ve warned that the ATF has been operating as a rogue agency, targeting gun owners and small firearms businesses with arbitrary rulings and unconstitutional enforcement actions,” Brown added. “We fully expect this review to expose the weaponization of federal agencies against the Second Amendment, and we stand ready to fight to ensure every infringement – big or small – is repealed.”
